Georgia Natural Gas (GNG) has a proven track record for commitment to sustainability and Georgia Commute Options programs. GNG is in its third year of being a partner of Midtown Transportation. In 2016, they boasted 28.4% of all commutes being clean. A large degree of this success can be attributed to GNG’s contribution toward 50% of employee transit passes as well as their robust telework program. 40% of staff telework at least once per week.
Midtown Transportation is regularly invited to speak to commuters about clean commuting and Georgia Commute Options’ programs at Georgia Natural Gas’ annual Earth Day Fairs. Nearly two-thirds of GNG’s work force consistently attends these voluntary events.
In 2015 alone, GNG’s exceptional clean commuting program has kept 253,864 vehicle miles off the road via with 4,625 transit trips and eliminated 6,336 drive alone trips through teleworking. This prevented 206,437 pounds of CO2 from being released into the air. GNG saved clean commuting employees approximately $27,493 in fuel costs in 2015.
