PARK(ing) Day

Transform your Space

What is PARK(ing) Day?

An annual event to temporarily transform parking spaces into public, park-like places – in other words, “PARK(ing) spaces.” The project began in 2005 when Rebar, a San Francisco art and design studio, converted a single metered parking space into a temporary public park. Since then, PARK(ing) Day has evolved into a global movement.

On September 18, Georgia Commute Options is collaborating with employer and property manager partners to show what parking spaces could be if they weren’t being used for cars. We already know that choosing a clean commute like carpooling or vanpooling is great for wallets and sanity. But it can also be great for space! The fewer cars we bring to work, the more space we have for other things.

Where will we be on PARK(ing) Day?
