Vanpoolooza Rules

Rules of Eligibility

For all Vanpoolooza competitions, participants must:

  • Live or work within the following counties: Barrow, Bartow, Bibb, Carroll, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Floyd, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Newton, Paulding, Rockdale, Spalding, Walton
  • Be an employee commuting to and from work
  • Use or start using vanpooling services between June 1, 2013 and August 31, 2013 provided by Douglas County Rideshare, Enterprise or Vride.

Vanpoolooza Competitions

Regional Group Competition - “Most New Riders Recruited” (for Vanpools): This is a competition for vanpools to try to recruit the most new riders to join vanpools. Each vanpool recruits new riders throughout the program and at the end the vanpools with the highest number of new recruits that join and ride will win prizes!

Rules of participation:

  • The vanpool that recruits the most new riders to join & become a regular rider in the vanpool during the 3 month timeframe wins.
  • New vanpool recruits must ride and log vanpool trips consistently with a minimum of five (5) days logged at www.logyourcommute.org between June 1, 2013 and August 31, 2013.
  • All Rider Referral Forms must be received by The Clean Air Campaign no later than August 15, 2013. Forms can be faxed to: 678-244-7740
  • Credit for recruiting a new vanpool rider is based on the information supplied on the Georgia Commute Options Rider Referral Form and the Georgia Commute Options online logging system.
  • During this competition, Rider Referral forms will also be processed as normal for a potential $50.00 prize per referral contingent on guidelines laid out on the form.
  • Only one existing vanpool rider can take credit for recruiting an individual rider but there is no limit to the number of referrals a rider may submit.
  • New Riders do not have to join the same vanpool as the person doing the recruiting. New rider, once they formally join a vanpool, can also start recruiting for their new vanpool.
  • Prizes for the vanpools that recruit the most new riders:
    • 1st place: $500 - divided equally among recognized vanpool participants, plus credit from the vanpool provider for one month’s vanpool fare.
    • 2nd place: $400 - divided equally among recognized vanpool participants
    • 3rd place: $300 - divided equally among recognized vanpool participants
  • In the event of a tie, winners will be selected based on the number of vanpool logs submitted by the new riders during the month of August.

Individual Competition - “Most Prospects Attending an Open House Event” (for Vanpoolers): This is a competition for individuals who currently ride in vanpools. Current vanpoolers bring perspective new riders to local events to learn about vanpooling benefits and options. The vanpoolers who bring the most prospects to an event will win prizes! 

Rules of participation:

  • Existing vanpoolers bring as many prospective new riders to a local event
  • Each prospective rider must complete a Rider Referral Form with the existing rider at the start of the event
  • During this competition, Rider Referral forms will also be processed as normal for a potential $50.00 prize per referral contingent on guidelines laid out on the form.
  • Only one existing vanpool rider can take credit for inviting a prospective rider to the event
  • Both parties must be present at the event
  • Prizes for the existing riders that bring the most prospective riders:
    • 1st place: $100
    • 2nd place: $50
    • 3rd place: $25
  • In the event of a tie, prizes will be split equally among top finishers at each event.

Regional Group Competition - “Vanpool Decorating Contest”:

  • Participating vanpools are eligible to compete in a vanpool decorating photo contest on the Georgia Commute Options Facebook page. Top vote-getting vanpool wins a prize to be shared by the recognized participants in a vanpool.
  • Photo entries should be submitted via e-mail by August 1, 2013, limit one entry per vanpool. For a complete set of rules, go to Facebook.com/GeorgiaCommuteOptions.

Honor Code

All Vanpoolooza participants are expected to input accurate and truthful data for the vanpool commute trips they submit to take part in the competition. There are penalties for receiving federal funds fraudulently. Federal funding for the Vanpoolooza promotion stipulates that all funds must be used to encourage vanpool commuting to and from work locations. Any participant that knowingly supplies misleading or incorrect information is committing fraud and is therefore subject to prosecution.

Review
