Biketober officially kicks off on October 1! For some, riding solo is a cathartic experience, but for many, the joy of riding as a part of a group, makes the ride all the more enjoyable. Whether you’re an expert cyclist or have never touched a bike, there’s a cycling club or group ride in the city that’s perfect for you as you prepare for the month-long challenge. Atlanta’s cycling community is strong, diverse, and welcoming to all skill levels. Here’s a list of clubs to help you get out there and explore the vibrant cycling scene in the city:

  • BonaFide Riders
    Are you cycling to become more active? BonaFide Riders might be the group for you. Their goal is to get people on bikes and promote a healthy lifestyle. Check out their social media pages to see when their next ride is
  • Critical Mass – Atlanta
    Every last Friday of the month, hundreds of Atlantans come together for a ride through the city. The rides are typically 10 to 15 miles, with the route changing each month. If you’d like to join, head over to their Facebook page to join in on their discussions and see when their next ride is.
  • Cycling for Good
    If you’re looking to do something good on your ride, Cycling for Good is the group for you. On the last Sunday of every month, the group rides through downtown Atlanta and distributes care packages to those in need. Check out their Instagram page to see when and where they meet next
  • Dope Pedalers
    You have three chances each week to ride with the Dope Pedalers for their weekly rides. Dope Pedalers is an all-inclusive group that seeks to expand community and promote cycling in Atlanta. Locations and times for weekly rides can be found on their social media pages.
  • Metro Atlanta Cycling Club (MACC)
    MACC promotes cycling within the Black community and builds camaraderie among all cyclists. They host a series of group rides each month. Check out their page for more details.
  • MWR ATL
    MWR ATL, formerly Midweek Roll, recently underwent rebranding in May 2024. This social cycling club meets once a month at a local coffee shop for social events. They also host special events such as art rides, rides to Atlanta United games, and more. Did we mention that it’s free to join, and anyone can participate? Check out their calendar to see what rides they have planned this month.
  • RAR Atlanta
    RAR Atlanta is an exclusive cycling community for femme, trans, women, and non-binary riders of all experience and skill levels in the city. The group offers a variety of cycling events such as camping trips, monthly rides, education, training, and social events. Events and rides are posted on their Instagram page.
  • Sorella Cycling
    Ladies, this ride is for you. Sorella Cycling is one of the first women-only cycling groups in the city. They have been riding since 2006 and are still going strong. This club is for women of all ages and skill levels. Each month features a variety of rides ranging from expert to beginner. There is a yearly $29 membership fee that includes access to rides, events, and discounts at local businesses.

These are just a handful of groups that can help you get on your bike this Biketober. If you register early, you could win a $1,000 Airbnb gift card for your next bike adventure.
