Georgia Commute Schools

The Science of Sustainability

Georgia Commute Schools encourages healthier students, schools, and communities through air quality education and innovative community programs, aiming to instill values around sustainable transportation behavior, reduce single-occupant vehicle use, and improve regional air quality and community health.

We offer year-round programs and resources, like our anti-idling program and curriculum, and host events throughout the year, from Biketober to Love My Bus Month, to help your school community build healthy, lifelong habits.

K-12 Curriculum

We offer free classroom curriculum centered around air quality and environmental science. Written by teachers, for teachers, each lesson is tailored to specific grade bands across elementary, middle, and high school.

Anti-Idling

Idling in school zones can be hard on young lungs, triggering asthma and exposing students to harmful pollution. Adopting an anti-idling policy at your school is a great first step in making your campus safer and healthier for all students.
