I am not receiving emails from Georgia Commute Options like my log reminders or prompts to reset my password. What's wrong?

Sometimes those emails are sent to spam folders, so you can check there first! Remember to add info@gacommuteoptions.com to your list of approved senders to receive our emails in the future.

How do I access a Guaranteed Ride Home ride?

Visit our GRH Page for detailed information about redeeming a GRH ride.

How do I get my worksite involved?

Check out which organization you should work with directly to get your worksite involved.

Is this a program like Uber or Lyft?

No. Ridehailing services like Uber or Lyft are similar to taxi services that pick riders up and take them to their destination for a fee. Georgia Commute Options helps commuters find all available rideshare options for their commute.

How much does it cost to find a ridematch?

Nothing —our ridematching service is totally free.

What is a "clean commute?"

Any commute that doesn’t involve driving alone! Carpooling, biking, walking, teleworking, vanpooling and transit all qualify. We also count Compressed Work Weeks—that is, working longer days, fewer days a week—because those create off days on which employees help reduce congestion and air pollution by skipping a day’s commute. However, compressed work weeks are not eligible for the Gimme Five incentive. Click here to learn more about each of these clean commute options.

What is Georgia Commute Options?

GCO provides a set of free services that help improve how metro Atlantans get to and from work. We offer cash and prizes to reward commuters who choose alternatives to driving alone—and our services help make that switch as easy as possible.

How do I pay for my vanpool?

Payments are made directly to the vanpool provider, not to Georgia Commute Options.

How much does it cost to vanpool?

This varies depending upon the distance the van travels and the number of riders. Some areas of town offer subsidies that help lower the cost.

How do I start a vanpool?

Contact one of the vanpool providers below to get started!

What is a vanpool?

A vanpool is a van with 7-15 other people who share the ride to work. You split the cost of gas and get to ride in the HOV lane. One of your fellow riders drives the van.

Is my compressed work week eligible for participation in the Gimme Five programs?

No. As most commuters only have one day off each week with a Compressed Work Week arrangement, there would not be enough time in the 90-day participation period for the commuter to log the minimum number of days and earn a reward.

What is a compressed work week?

Compressed work weeks allow commuters to work a normal 40-hour week in less than 5 days. For example, employees may work four 10-hour days as opposed to five 8-hour days.

What is telework?

Telework is working remotely, often from home.

How do you work to ensure that my other carpool riders and I are compatible?

We encourage commuters to schedule a meeting with your new carpool partner in a safe, public area to discuss your carpool arrangement. We can also arrange a “Meet Your Match” event at your worksite, where commuters have the opportunity to find others that live close to them and work in the same office. If at any time you feel uncomfortable with someone in your carpool, you can contact us so that we can work with you to find an alternative commute option.

How do I find more ridematches?

To find more ride matches, consider expanding your search radius or your match criteria. You can find carpool ridematches and vanpool ridematches. You can find more carpool ridematches here.

How do I pay for my carpool?

You and your carpool partners create an arrangement that works best for you.

Do I have to carpool with someone assigned to me by Georgia Commute Options, or can it be someone I know?

Nope! You can carpool with anyone you choose. Feel free to ride with friends, family, coworkers, or neighbors! Our ridematch service is simply here to help if you’re short on ridesharing options.
