Meet Taylor

Growing up in Alpharetta, Taylor Spung is all too familiar with Atlanta traffic.

After graduating from Georgia Southern University, Taylor moved back to Atlanta to start her life as a savvy and successful public relations professional.

Meet Taylor
Taylors Commute Story

Her Daily commute

Since April 2016, Taylor has commuted to work via a rideshare app and/or MARTA. Taylor was born with Starghardt’s Disease – a form of macular degeneration that causes progressive damage of the macula, which is a small area in the center of the retina that is responsible for sharp, straight-ahead vision – making her unable to drive.

Today, Taylor is a marketing and business development coordinator at ARPR located in Ponce City Market (PCM). On a good day, her commute is about 30 to 40 minutes – taking MARTA from Brookhaven to North Ave and then hopping on PCM’s shuttle.

“I’ve met some awesome people. MARTA is a community – I see the same people all the time and we kind of rely on each other,” said Taylor.“One thing about MARTA I hear consistently is that once people try it, they’re like ‘Oh this is easy!’ or ‘This is way better than driving to work!’ Convincing people to ride MARTA one time can usually get people on board for good.”

“Using public transit gives me the power to control my commute, which is something a lot of people lose with their disabilities,” Taylor explained. “It’s mindless too. I can put on a good podcast and take that 45 minutes to an hour to myself.”
